Prometheus is an open-source monitoring solution that collects and stores metrics data in a time series database. Alertmanager, a key component of Prometheus, manages alerts by deduplicating, grouping, and routing them to various integrations like email and Slack.
However, some chat applications, such as Mattermost and Rocket.Chat, are not natively supported, leaving organizations that rely on these platforms for internal communication without direct alerts from Prometheus.
Our goal was to bridge this gap by developing a solution that allows Prometheus Alertmanager to send real-time alerts directly to Mattermost and Rocket.Chat channels. This integration not only improves operational efficiency but also enhances the responsiveness of teams by delivering critical alerts within their primary communication tools
